The Beginning
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was [a] formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.


1 ในปฐมกาลพระเจ้าทรงเนรมิตสร้าง {หรือ เมื่อพระเจ้าทรงเริ่มเนรมิตสร้าง} ฟ้าและแผ่นดิน
2 แผ่นดินก็ว่างเปล่า ความมืดอยู่เหนือน้ำ และพระวิญญาณของพระเจ้าปกอยู่เหนือน้ำนั้น
3 พระเจ้าตรัสว่า "จงเกิดความสว่าง" ความสว่างก็เกิดขึ้น
4 พระเจ้าทรงเห็นว่าความสว่างนั้นดี และทรงแยกความสว่างออกจากความมืด
5 พระเจ้าทรงเรียกความสว่างนั้นว่า วัน และความมืดนั้นว่า คืน มีเวลาเย็นและเวลาเช้าเป็นวันแรก
