Mark 1:10-15

As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: 'You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.' At once the Spirit sent him out into the desert, and he was in the desert forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels attended him. The Calling of the First Disciples After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. 10 พอพระองค์เสด็จขึ้นมาจากน้ำ ในทันใดนั้นก็ทรงเห็นท้องฟ้าแหวกออก และพระวิญญาณดุจนกพิราบลงมาสู่ {หรือ เข้าใน} พระองค์
11 แล้วมีพระสุรเสียงมาจากฟ้าสวรรค์ว่า "ท่านเป็นบุตรที่รักของเรา เราชอบใจท่านมาก"
12 ในทันใดนั้น พระวิญญาณจึงเร่งเร้าพระองค์ให้เสด็จเข้าไปในถิ่นทุรกันดาร
13 และซาตาน {ชื่อหนึ่งของมาร หมายความว่า ผู้ขัดขวาง (ปฏิปักษ์)} ได้ผจญพระองค์อยู่ในนั้นถึงสี่สิบวัน พระองค์ทรงอยู่ในที่ของสัตว์ป่า และมีพวกทูตสวรรค์มาปรนนิบัติพระองค์
14 ครั้นยอห์นถูกอายัดแล้ว พระเยซูได้เสด็จมายังแคว้นกาลิลี ทรงเทศนาประกาศข่าวประเสริฐของพระเจ้า
15 และตรัสว่า "เวลากำหนดมาถึงแล้ว และแผ่นดินของพระเจ้าก็มาใกล้แล้ว จงกลับใจเสียใหม่ และเชื่อข่าวประเสริฐเถิด"
